Money can buy both goods and services. Goods are things people can buy and use. Food, clothes, furniture, and apple trees are goods. Services are the things that people do for others. A doctor provides the service of keeping people healthy. When people perform a service for you, they work for you. When they are paid for the service, they earn money. People work to earn money.
