Eastern or Western Hemisphere?
Take another look at the globe. Notice that there is
another special marker line. This line goes north and south and divides
the globe into two halves. The 0 degree line that divides Earth in
half from north to south is called the prime meridian.
The prime meridian divides the globe into hemispheres. Locations in the
Eastern and Western
Hemispheres are measured by degrees east and
degrees west of the prime meridian. The prime meridian is also a longitude
line.
